Getting over not finishing Ironman Texas has been more of a mental
struggle than a physical struggle. It’s
like a mosquito that’s always buzzing in my ear while I’m trying to sit on the
porch and read a good book.
Last year after successfully completing IMTX I was blissfully
content. I lazed away my days for about
a month. When I did start to work out
again there was no sense of urgency.
This year I’m not sitting around crying about not finishing IMTX,
rather it’s created a definite sense of urgency. An urgency to be excellent.
“We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.” -Aristotle.
